Remove location requirement
Remove need to have location services. I don’t have mine on but like the app so constantly turn it on and off. I just want to put in a postcode and it gives me the weather for that postcode.
2 votesWe understand that people do not like sharing their location, however the app is designed to give hyperlocal rain predictions, and given the size of many postcodes the rain predictions can be off by 15-30 minutes, or in many cases it won’t rain at all. As such the location is required to ensure accuracy.
We are not going to introduce a feature that breaks the core feature of how the app works.
Note that we do fuzz your location so it’s only as precise as required to give you an accurate prediction (within 1km), and we don’t store your previous locations ever.
In addition, we don’t know who you are – there is no sign-up requirement, so there is no personally identifiable information stored against your account. We just get a random id and a rough GPS coordinate, and that is all we need.

Exact location accuracy
More of a question, why does it set my location completely different to where I am? It says coollungatta as my location but I’m in Burleigh... is there anyway to make it more accurate?

The source radar images are square, so in order for that to happen we would need to crop the radar image, losing the sides of the image.
The radar resolution is already upscaled 3x, so there is no extra data by zooming in.

Custom Alert Sounds
It would be great if we could pick our own custom sound alert for the rain alarm. Thanks.
4 votesWe might end up with some additional sounds, but you cannot have custom notifications sounds in iOS, the sound needs to be part of the app bundle.

Notifications
Why don’t I get notifications on iPhone X not even the notification for the next day at 7:00pm
3 votesThis is not really a feature request – if you are not getting notifications make sure you have notifications enabled in your phone settings.

Please make a similar menu bar app for MacOS.
Please keep it light in memory and cpu use.

Store locations and settings in iCloud
When the user tweaks the locations and settings on their iPhone their iPad (and hopefully Mac version soon too) should have a toggle (same settings for all my devices)
When toggled, a setting change will be pushed to all devices.

Alternate rain tracking method
Allow a second mode of prediction: not just wind direction but vector trace the raincloud direction (with machine learning?) and use that to predict. Often the upper raincloud layers have a different bearing than the lower ground wind direction. Especially on mountainous islands the upper rain clouds will travel at different speed and bearing, than the wind direction in the valley.
Allow users to choose which method of prediction to use per location and remember it.

Play a game of Pong
I love the mini pong animation that comes up when I pull the screen down to refresh. Can I have a new screen when I can actually play pong. Would help fill in the time waiting for the rain to hit!

List of saved places
To make the app better, it would be great for users to be able to save multiple locations(I.e home, work, golf), as well as having the option of viewing predictions at the current location.

Time notification volumes
Great work developers.
One downfall I have is that when connected to my "bluetooth clock radio" while my volume is lowered for regular streaming music, the notification comes through full blast, crazy when it's a weekend and I hear "RAIN PARROT!!!" at 7am. Haha.
Would love to see a variable notification volume through certain hours.Thanks.

Is it possible to get a 64km radius?
Now that's BOMs offline for three months a friend told me about your app, it's been a great substitute , but really missing the 64km radius, is it possible to add one in?

Allow notifications to be set for certain days
I only need notifications to come through on certain days and between certain times. It'd be great have this feature
3 votesYou can already set the hours that the alert sound will play – if you need finer control then you can use the Do Not Disturb feature on your phone.

App not working since update
I updated this app yesterday on my iPad & now it's not working. Won't even open.
