The tricky part is that getting this data accurately is difficult, but I would like to see it also
Just wondering if it is possible for the app to differentiate between smoke and cloud.
Today the app seems to show lots of rain in fire affected areas, which would be awesome, but it seems the app can’t differentiate between smoke and cloud.
I’m guessing this is hard to do...3 votes
We’d really like to implement this too – I had a go at it during peak bushfire season, however it turns out it’s substantially more complex than first though, and getting some accurate data on what is a fire or not is also quite tricky.
The option to have multiple locations to select from in a list for regular spots or even the destination...99 votes
Please add UV forecast - we’re in Australia where getting cancer is unfortunately more of an issue than getting wet.
Feels like temperature would really help too.5 votes
Wind direction is normally given as direction it blows to, not from.

I live at Little Bay (on the coast south of Maroubra) but Rain Parrot shows me the weather for Sydney Airport. Although the airport is a relatively short distance from Little Bay (around 10km) the temperature is quite different- coastal versus cement runways. I don’t have a problem with GPS recognition for other weather and GPS dependent apps, only with Rain Parrot.9 votes
We are looking into some advanced ways we can merge our current ‘actual’ data with the predicted models, that other apps use, to provide a higher accuracy solution.
There are loads of apps that ‘fake it’ by using these models, we prefer to give the real data where possible, however we understand that this doesn’t work for everyone, particularly if you are not near a weather station.
Knowing if I have to go home and take washing off the line before it rains; should travel to the soccer game or will it be washed out; drive to the beach or will I get there and turn around; go home to mow the lawn before it’s too late or just ray put are things that really make this app stand out.
I use alternate locations on other free weather apps all the time, for this paid one that looks specifically at rain, it’s a real asset to those that have invested their cash for you.42 votes
What about adding the ability to share a forecast?8 votes
Relocate the About page to Settings or Feedback and Support.
Love the app and would love to support the developer. But I don’t think this page warrants a separate section on the main navigation menu.
You don’t need to go to that page, there is no need to go there if you don’t want to. Anyway it is looking like that page will be removed in a future update anyway
I love the idea of rain parrot for slipping my bicycle commute in between the showers. To make this even better it would be good to be able to change the location so that I can see predictions on when it will rain along the route. For example the rain here usually comes from the W and my commute home from work is E to W. If I could set the location to my home and see that it isn’t expected to rain there for 40 mins then I know that I could get home dry. Leaving the location at the office may say clear for the next hour but it may start raining on me before I get home.

We are looking into adding additional locations on a separate page. Note we have tried this feature and it isn’t as useful as it sounds, as the rain often travels faster than you can. So by the time you arrive at your new location the rain prediction is completely different to when you left as so much time has passed.
