  3. Hail alert

    Rain alerts are cool and handy but hail alerts could prevent damage to property enabling us to get our cars under cover. You could even get some funding from the insurance companies for this one potentially.

  4. UV and feels like

    Please add UV forecast - we’re in Australia where getting cancer is unfortunately more of an issue than getting wet.

    Feels like temperature would really help too.

    Wind direction is normally given as direction it blows to, not from.

    Check Wikipedia to confirm.

  9. Hourly rain percentage.

    BOM has a hourly rain percentage underneath the time and icon for predicted weather, a paid app using the same source should also offer this.

  11. Cloud Cover

    Would be great to have a similar interactive/moving style map with the cloud cover. I work in the film industry and this would be a great feature to assist with if it will be a sunny day or cloudy in regions that are not raining. Just an idea from the film industry side :) great app by the way I love it and use it all the time.

  12. Rain Parrot does not fix on my location

    I live at Little Bay (on the coast south of Maroubra) but Rain Parrot shows me the weather for Sydney Airport. Although the airport is a relatively short distance from Little Bay (around 10km) the temperature is quite different- coastal versus cement runways. I don’t have a problem with GPS recognition for other weather and GPS dependent apps, only with Rain Parrot.

    We are looking into some advanced ways we can merge our current ‘actual’ data with the predicted models, that other apps use, to provide a higher accuracy solution.

    There are loads of apps that ‘fake it’ by using these models, we prefer to give the real data where possible, however we understand that this doesn’t work for everyone, particularly if you are not near a weather station.

  13. Lighting tracking g

    I have seen that you have a few requests for this and I think it would be a great addition.
    I know that in Australia Bureau of meteorology has active lighting tracking. Other weather apps like weather zone and flight radar 24 also have this feature so the data source might be more available than back in 2016. Just an idea :)

  16. Horizontal scroll dates

    In the horizontal scroll, it is difficult to determine which day the 3 hour block is referring. Is there a way this can be made easier see?

    The problem is that the radar is centred on the radar station, so by centring the map you will have to crop the radar – we can’t make up the data from no-where.

    By moving the map, we’ll just expose an area of the map that the radar does not cover. So to do that, we need to then zoom in, or use data from another radar. If we zoom in, you don’t get more data, it will just get more blurred, and if try to use another radar, then there is a likely possibility that there is not coverage.

  20. Radar sensitivity.

    Are you able to turn down sensitivity on over excited sites e.g. Namoi ( Black Jack Mountain). The two lowest indications are not actually rain, just heavy cloud. I have logged complaints with BOM a number of occasions to no avail. Their techs. could fix this easily as sensitivity is adjustable. Even shows major bushfires as rain!
